The Asus Eee Pc Seashell 1215-PU17 is an awesome netbook laptop for it’s size and price. The 12.1” WXGA LED screen is a bit bigger then most and looks very nice. The Nvidia ION 2 graphics card which was designed with netbook computers in mind runs really well and I have not noticed too much screen lag even when I press it to the max. It comes with 2GB DDR3 ram which can be upgraded to 4GB but I’ve found this isn’t needed for most on-the-go applications. The Dual-Core Atom D524 1.8Ghz is more then enough for a netbook laptop and performs much better then any other mobile processor I have tested so far. The chip is also built with battery performance in mind so you can be sure that your battery will last through your long plane trip. Speaking of the battery, I have noticed that the battery on this asus netbook will last anywhere between 4 and 8 hours depending on load but this netbook laptop provides a nice feature called ASUS Super Hybrid Engine which lets you switch power profiles instantly and optimize the system so it doesn’t use that much battery charge for certain taks. In conclusion, the 1215-PU17 is a cheap windows 7 netbook considering it’s features and one of the best I’ve found in the Asus netbook line-up.
